Do's and Don'ts of job hunting - Session 10

In this session the panel discusses some of the Do’s and Don’ts of Job Hunting. There were three main topics that were discussed…

Point #1: Appearance is a Big Thing

You have to look the part if you want someone to take you seriously. Be professional so that people can look at you and believe that you could be a potential employee for my company. Understand that the people who hire you have to be able to present you to their company as a good employee.

Point #2: Do your Research

Find out what would be the best way to present yourself for the position and do your research on the company.

Point #3: Practice being professional at all times

Treat every opportunity that you have in a work context as if it is a potential job interview. Whether that is an unpaid internship or you are just out with people who could be potential employers because you never know who it is that may provide an opportunity for you down the line.
